Mundane observations from the week

I went to a board game convention with mandated masks and people had better mask compliance than I've seen at scale anywhere else in the past year, including medical staff at large facilities, where a decent fraction of staff at places that mandate masks wear them below the nose or on their chin.

I found this moderately surprising but, in retrospect, I think it should be expected that board game nerds have better mask compliance than doctors and nurses.

@danluu I would guess medical staff are more tired of wearing masks when they do daily than convention attendees that don't usually wear them. It's been a painful experience for me and some people I know during the pandemic at least.

Hopefully there's some research going on for better mask ergonomics, especially with glasses.
